The 8-channel PicoScope 4823 oscilloscope is specially designed for automotive applications and operates with a bandwidth of 20 MHz and a resolution of 12 bits. The sampling rate of the 4823 is max. 80 MS/s. It is even fast enough to enable CAN, FlexRay and CAN FD including a serial data decoding. The software With PicoScope6, the oscilloscope has professional software that enables diagnostics on cars, motorcycles or commercial vehicles. Tailored for automotive use, the software configures the probes and includes more than 150 guided tests. In addition, the program provides access to thousands of comparison data in the Pico waveform library. The updates are free of charge and therefore offer a purchase for the future. Power for the oscilloscope is supplied via the USB port. PicoScope6 Automotive is supported by all Windows versions from Windows 7 onwards.
- Sampling rate max. 80 MS/s (10 MS/s when using all 8 channels).

2, 4 or 8 channel PicoScope?
The two and four channel PicoScope 4225 and 4425 are our recommended products for general workshop use. The floating design, ConnectDetect™ and 200 V inputs make for a very rugged and easy-to-use product.
For experienced oscilloscope users involved in training, vehicle design and complex diagnostics, the eight-channel PicoScope 4823 may be a suitable choice. Instead of floating grounds that require one ground connection per channel, the 4823 has common grounds protected by self-resetting fuses. This means you don't need one ground per channel, which can be a real time saver when connecting many channels. The common ground design limits the 4823's maximum input range to 50 V (protected to 100 V), so attenuators are required when measuring voltage signals from inductive components such as injectors and primary ignition.
Why should you buy a PicoScope 4823?
The PicoScope is used by, and trusted by, more authorized and independent repairers than any other measurement system because it gives them the ability, confidence and support to quickly find and prove the fix for most vehicle faults. When you buy a PicoScope, you benefit from more than 25 years of investment in the world's best diagnostic oscilloscopes.
The PicoScope 4823 is simply the best eight-channel diagnostic oscilloscope for vehicle and equipment technicians. It offers unrivaled performance for the same amount of money as instruments that leave you stuck or frustrated due to limitations. The Pico community and resources are there to help you every step of the way with a PicoScope diagnostic oscilloscope.
Typical applications
The PicoScope 4823 is a cost-effective, portable solution for multiple-input applications. With eight high-speed, high-resolution analog channels, you have a perfect solution for a range of diagnostic requirements such as:
V6/V8 camshaft control (4/6 cams plus crankshaft, and sometimes a WPS) and VVT control systems.
Trucks, construction and agricultural equipment that typically require a mix of electrical and hydraulic measurements on multiple valves simultaneously to diagnose system interaction issues.
Full system diagnostics on components (including power, ground, signals, current).
Diagnosis of faults on multiple serial buses (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay)
256 MS deep memory allows several seconds of acquisition at full sample rate (ideal for long acquisitions of serial data or searching for faults). Managing all this data requires some powerful tools, so zoom factors of several million are possible. Other tools such as the waveform buffer, mask boundary test, serial decoding and hardware acceleration work in conjunction with the deep memory to make the PicoScope 4823 one of the most powerful diagnostic oscilloscopes on the market.
